Barossa Park Lodge

Glenorchy, Tasmania

This new development was designed as a fully integrated community, built near a major regional shopping centre with the intention of reaching out to the elderly within the local area. The complex embraces a 130-bed Aged Care facility, including dementia specific facilities and a stepdown unit for seniors who do not require acute care but are not ready to return to independent living.

Masterplanning included the main “Lodge”, a range of ILU’s, communal facility, gymnasium, hairdressing salon and community café. These areas have all been linked together with landscaped areas and community gardens, which now provide edible produce used in the central kitchens. The kitchen and laundry facilities also provide the back of house and central hotel services for OneCare Southern Tasmania.

A brand new Wellness and Community Centre has since been added to the Barossa Park complex, which includes a lap pool, hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium and physiotherapy treatment rooms.
